For best results, post it at the point of danger, ideally at eye level for a standing adult. Print on cardstock for indoor use, or laminate it if it'll be exposed to weather or handled often.
Warning signage exists to prevent the incident, not explain it afterward — the earlier and more visible it is, the more likely it actually gets read.
